Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 20 May 2026
Please read these terms carefully before using QuietOS. By downloading or using the app or this website, you agree to be bound by them.
1. About QuietOS
QuietOS is a mobile launcher application developed and operated by James Barton ("we", "us", "our"). The app is available on Android via Google Play and on iOS via the Apple App Store.
2. Licence to use
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use QuietOS for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the app or any part of it
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable law
3. Subscriptions and payment
QuietOS offers a free 7-day trial, after which access requires a subscription:
- Monthly: £2.99 per month
- Annual: £19 per year
- Lifetime: £39 one-time payment
All transactions are processed by Apple or Google. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Device-linked purchases: Your purchase is linked to the device and platform account (Apple ID or Google account) used at the time of purchase. A lifetime purchase or active subscription entitles you to use QuietOS on that account's associated devices. Purchases are non-transferable to a different account or platform.
We do not offer refunds beyond what is required by law or provided by Apple/Google's standard policies. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact the relevant store.
4. Intellectual property
QuietOS, its name, logo, and all associated content are the intellectual property of James Barton. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
QuietOS is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. We make no guarantee that the app will reduce your screen time — results depend on your own choices and usage.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of QuietOS. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
7. Third-party services
The app integrates with third-party services (Apple, Google, RevenueCat) for payment processing. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the actions of third parties.
8. Changes to the app or terms
We may update QuietOS or these terms at any time. Material changes to the terms will be communicated via an in-app notice or update to this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it and cancelling your subscription.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
